If you prefer to see Peking Opera performances in the original old and wooden tea houses, The Zhengyici Theatre (Chinese Name : 正乙祠戏楼) is not to miss, regard as one of the best-known Beijing opera theatres. It is also one of the oldest wooden theatres in China.
Zhengyici means a temple for Zhengyi Xuantan Laozu. This theatre was built in 1688, during the reign of the Kangxi Emperor in the Qing Dynasty. It was built on the site of a Buddhist temple. the Zhengyici theatre has a rich history that includes best performances by the grandmaster of Peking Opera, Mei Lanfang.

You could getting there conveniently by subway, it's flat fare is RMB 2.00/p.p. take the subway line 2, and get off the Hepingmen station exit C1. you may also Take taxi or bus 15, 25, 703, 102, 826, 820, 808, 821, te7, 337, 848 to Hepingmen stop, then you could see the Quan Ju De Peking Duck restaurant, while the Zhengyici theatre just behind the restaurant.
