BRIEF INTRODUCTION

Founded in 1959, the National Ballet of China Symphony Orchestra is a national level orchestra specializing in ballet music performance . This chamber music concert takes place in the Small Theatre of the National Centre for the Performing Arts. Outstanding musicians from the orchestra form the “Ba Yin He” Chamber Ensemble, performing in varied instrumental combinations including violin, cello, harp, flute and clarinet.

The repertoire features masterpieces by Debussy, Ravel, Piazzolla, Tchaikovsky and other Western composers, alongside adapted folk melodies and film scores. Different from grand scale symphonic performances, chamber music delivers delicate, transparent sound with intimate musical dialogue among performers. Audiences get an up close view of instrumental details and experience the refined elegance of classical chamber music.
