Presenter
China Philharmonic Orchestra (CPO)
The China Philharmonic Orchestra (CPO) was established on the basis of the China Broadcasting Symphonic Orchestra. It is now directly under the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television with Yu Long as its chief conductor and chief arts inspector.
The China Broadcasting Symphony Orchestra was among the first symphony orchestras established after the founding of the People's Republic of China (PRC) in 1949 and has contributed greatly to China's musical development. Officially founded on May 25, 2000, the orchestra has set its objective of becoming "first rate at home, among the best in Asia, and well-known in the world."
In the spring of 2009, the British magazine "Gramophone" ranked the "Top 10 Most Influential Orchestras in the World," and the China Philharmonic Orchestra was listed alongside the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra, and New York Philharmonic Orchestra!
The China Philharmonic Orchestra has completed numerous world premieres and China premieres of musical works over the past twenty-five years, a quantity that stands as a pinnacle in China's music industry. It is through such frequent artistic activities that the orchestra gradually formed and established its distinctive artistic style, creating the "Voice of China Philharmonic" and uniting a vibrant group of artists, ultimately contributing to cultural confidence.
