BRIEF INTRODUCTION

The dance drama The Garden is inspired by Karel Čapek's classic play "Robot 2084". This work from a century ago not only coined the term "robot," but also planted the seeds for an eternal inquiry into the nature of life. As we enter the era of AI, returning to this classic work serves precisely to bridge the present with the future.

The story is set on a desolate future planet, where humanity mass-produces robots to reclaim and cultivate their survival territory—thus unfolding a fable about life and emotion...

An emotionally deprived engineer creates a male robot to fill his inner void; he intends to build a powerful mechanical entity, but unexpectedly endows it with a unique empathetic ability that distinguishes it from mass-produced robots; the female robot is presented as a gift to the general manager's wife, yet under her benevolent care, it gradually begins to develop a sense of life. As everyone celebrates the planet's birth of a seed symbolizing life, the robot has already quietly begun to develop self-awareness. The clash between dominance and awakening is intense—everything old is quietly being rewritten...

In this new era of rapid technological evolution, how do we relate to ourselves and to others? What constitutes life, what constitutes emotion, and what defines true "seeing"? As the smoke of conflict clears, flowers finally bloom in the garden; upon the ruins, a new life nurtured by love quietly emerges. When the 'other' responds to us with love, blossoms will ultimately fill the entire world.
