BRIEF INTRODUCTION

Dance Drama CAO Xueqin tells the tale of a famous cultural giant, who stands at the summit of Chinese culture in spite of the changes in time and space. In this touching dance drama, the audience will not only read the pain of a prosperous feudal family dying in a flash, but also feel the sadness over disillusionment of ideals and the joys and sorrows of the lovers, who separate for long but reunite for a short time. The dance drama presents the beauty of work Dream of the Red Mansions and the passionate love of CAO Xueqin, who is the author of this work. It guides us into the life, emotions and spiritual world of this literary master and into the Dream of the Red Mansions.

Synopsis
For more than 60 years, the company is proud to have made great achievements in talent training and stage productions, as well as in ballet promotion and education.Numerous ballet dancers, choreographers, musicians and stage artists have won major international awards, and have collaborated with international stars in the irrespective fields. The company has a repertoire of more than 200 ballets,several of which are now known as classic Chinese works of art, and have become famous internationally.

In 2020, the Zhongguancun International Dance Centre launched high-quality art work productions, such as CAO Xueqin, and continues to improve its service capacity by meeting high demands for performances. Meanwhile, the Centre exerts its function of “covering the North Area of Zhongguancun Science City” to build a new landmark for the dance industry in Haidian district and become the main ground to unite and lead dance practitioners to perform their duties and contribute to the prosperity of artistic undertakings in Haidian District.
