CONDUCTOR: ZHANG Lie

ZHANG Lie is a member of the Chinese Musicians Association, director of the China Nationalities Orchestra Society, Deputy Secretary-General of the Chinese Conducting Council and a national first-class conductor. He is tpermanent conductor of the China Radio and Film Symphony Orchestra and China Broadcasting Chinese Orchestra and a composer at the Composition Study Room. He is an art director and guest conductor of the Central Conservatory of Music, Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, Singapore Chinese Orchestra, Taipei Municipal Chinese Classical Orchestra and Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.

He graduated from the Xi’an Conservatory of Music in 1984 and received advanced studies at the Conducting Department of the Central Conservatory of Music in the late 1990s. He studied under Professor LIU Jing, Professor FENG Qi and Professor YANG Hongnian. When attending a conducting master class in Germany, he received guidance and praise from Professor Baum.
