PROGRAMME

La Sylphide

The dance drama La Sylphide premiered on March 12,1832 at the Royal Academy of Music and Dance (the Paris Opera), written by Nuni, composed by: Shnetzhofer, director: Philip Talioni, starring Maria Talioni, Maggie and other stars. The dance is based on noteere's short story "Trielby, aka the Home God of Algarh" published in 1822, but has a larger adaptation.

The ballet shows the story of James, a young Scottish farmer, dreaming of a forest fairy, a forest fairy, unable to abandon his bride at the wedding ceremony and follow the flying fairy into the forest. In the forest clearing, all the fairies danced to the couple. To keep Silficda forever, James took the witch's advice to wrap the soaked veil over the fairy's shoulders. As a result, the fairy's two small wings fell off and she died immediately. Then he found that the bride, who had been abandoned by himself, had answered his friend's proposal, and that their wedding procession had passed by. James was remorse and fainted.

Because the toe shoes and the long white gauze skirt were adopted for the first time during the premiere of the La Sylphide, the toe dance gradually became a symbol of ballet, the first representative of the romantic period, and also the first complete ballet.

Don Quixote (Act 3)

"Don Quixote", a literary masterpiece by Cervantes in 1605, providing inspiration for the classical ballet choreographed by Marius Pedipa in 1869. Dance plot from the novel in the "marsh night", and the love story between gitli and the barber brazilio (brazilio trying to help his girlfriend gitley escape her father arranged the marriage, the father wants his daughter married rich gentry and marsh) fusion in Don Quixote in his loyal servant sancho pansha adventure.
