Features: Dekoor is a close-harmony choir consisting of 28 active students of the University of Utrecht. With enthusiasm Dekoor makes a spectacle out of every concert. On Aug 1st, Dekoor Close Harmony will stage in Star Live Music Hall.

BRIEF INTRODUCTION

In the past fifteen years, the Dekoor Close Harmony has developed into a much-appreciated choir. Partly owing to the musical director, Johan Rooze, Dekoor is presently known as one of the better amateur close-harmony choirs in the Netherlands.

Each year Dekoor sings a new and varying program. Next to light music like jazz, ballads, pop, Latin, big-band music and songs originating from musicals, Dekoor also sings experimental and more classic works. The choir sings mostly a cappella but also enjoys accompaniment from a combo consisting of bass, drums and piano for parts of the repertoire.

Aside from the annual concerts, Dekoor also sings at congresses and regularly takes care of the musical setting at seminars and receptions. Also, Dekoor participates in festivals. These past years have brought a number of prizes into Dekoor′s possession.

Dekoor participated in some well-known Dutch tv- and radio shows as well.

Until now, Dekoor recorded two cds; Rappo Funkin Voices and A OK. Recordings for the third CD have already begun.

Dekoor rehearses at Utrecht, but travels frequently. There have been exchanges with choirs from Latvia (1994/1995), Canada (1997) and the USA (2002).

Dekoor likes its shows to offer more than only songs. With the help of two stage Directors, the presentation of the concerts is untiringly different at every moment and in every show.
