Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France
The Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France is the orchestra of the 21st century. The structure of the orchestra was remodeled in the mid-1970's in response to Pierre Boulez's critiques of the rigidity of traditional symphonic formations. This unique restructuring enables the Orchestre to adapt to the full range of configurations found in the symphonic repertoire, from Classicism to contemporary music, as well as break down into several different ensembles, offering its listeners a great variety of programs.
