BRIEF INTRODUCTION
The Musical Alta Ripa ensemble was established in 1984 and has gone on to enjoy extraordinary success in its numerous concerts and in collaboration with various radio networks. One special interest of the ensemble is its work together with vocal soloists in an effort to reclaim for musical practice the fascinating repertoire of cantatas of chamber instrumentation. The name of the ensemble tribute to Hanover: the members reside in that city, and many of them received important stimuli for their musical endeavours at its music academy. The Latin Alta Ripa means "High Riverbank", and "Hanover" (German: "Hannover"), the modern name of the city, developed from the Middle high German form "honovere".
