BRIEF INTRODUCTION
Drama Playwright: William Shakespeare
Director: Sam Mendes
Leading Cast: Kevin Spacey
Richard III is a grand finale throughout the plan, which is jointly created by BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music), The Old Vic and Neal Street. This three-year plan converges the drama elites of the UK and the US, which is characterized by large-scale classical repertoire, targeting at English-speaking countries and catering to international performance market.
Richard III marks the first-ever cooperation between director Sam Mendes and leading actor Kevin Spacey following American Beauty (winner of five Oscar Awards in 1999). Sam Mendes graduated from Cambridge University, who joined in British Royal Shakespeare Company in his early years and puts his talent into full play on movie screen and theatrical stage at present. Within a decade after being crowned as Academy Award for Best Actor, the famous US actor Kevin Spacey gradually fades out from noisy vanity fair of Hollywood and serves as Artistic Director of The Old Vic, who is immersed in art atmosphere of British classical drama community. For current performance, Sam Mendes and Kevin Spacey join hand again, and call on many drama elites of the UK and the US to demonstrate their high attainments.
