BRIEF INTRODUCTION

Four Artists of Percussion Group of Berlin Philharmonic

Prof. Rainer Seegers
Rainer Seegers was already active as a substitute in the orchestra of the Hanover Staatsoper from the age of 13. In 1979 he moved to the same position with the Cologne Radio Symphony Orchestra, and from 1977 to 1982 he was also a member of the Bayreuth Festival Orchestra. In 1984 Seegers joined the Berlin Philharmonic and from 1986 he became the orchestra’s principal timpanist.


Simon Rossler
Simon Rossler studied percussion in Berlin with Prof. Rainer Seegers, and Prof. Li Biao. During his studies he won a lot of prices in national and international competitions and also performed on radio and television. He started touring Europe as a soloist and performing in many countries such as Spain, Belgium and Austria. Since 2008, Simon Rossler joined the Berlin Philharmonic as a permanent member of the orchestra.


Daniel Eichholz
Daniel Eichholz has played and worked with orchestras like Hamburg State Opera, NDR Symphonieorchester and Berliner Philharmoniker. He has also performed with solo percussion greats and ensembles. Daniel is not only working in the classical field of music, but is also a member of multiple-gold-awarded German electro-pop band 2raumwohnung and has been touring Europe and China.


Franz Schindlbeck
Franz Schindlbeck loves jazz as well as classical music. While still a student, he was already playing in a number of bands as drummer. In 1999, together with Berlin Philharmonic colleagues, he founded the Berlin Philharmonic Jazz Group.
