Features: As a series of concerts of 2013 New Year's Blessing, one of the most renowned art troupes: the China National Opera House Symphony Orchestra will be performing in Concert Hall of NCPA on January 24th.


BRIEF INTRODUCTION

China National Opera House established in 1952, is a national theatre affiliated to the Ministry of Culture and one of the Asian opera theatres with the advantage of scale and credits. It now has an opera troupe, a chorus, a symphony orchestra and a department of stage design.


The China National Opera House Symphony Orchestra is one of the most renowned art troupes in China affiliated with China National Opera House. By performing some world famous operas like La traviata, Madama Butterfly and Marco Polo, it is active on the world opera stage. In addition, the Orchestra also plays the music by some prestigious musicians such as Beethoven, Debussy, and Shostakovich and has worked with brilliant artists like David Oistrakh and Luciano Pavarotti. As the winner of many awards in both national and international competitions, it maintains a high level in international artistic communications and wins a widespread fame for China National Opera House and provides continuous support for its development.


Conductor: Yu Feng, President and art director of the China National Opera House, art director of the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra and dean of the Conducting Department of the China Central Conservatory of Music (CCCM).
Having begun studying music at a very young age, Yu Feng enrolled at the Conducting Department of the China Central Conservatory of Music in 1985. Six years later, he graduated with a Master's Degree and kicked off his teaching career in the same department. The same year, he became the first Chinese winner of the International Young Conductors' Competition held in Portugal, prompting national media to hail him as a "genius" and call it a "victory for the east".
