BRIEF INTRODUCTION

Based on Russian ancient fairy tale, the story was written by Begichev and Geltser, marking one of the most famous representatives of Tchaikovsky. Because of the mediocrity of the original choreographer in the creation and lack of experience of the conductor, the premiere on February 20, 1877 met its failure. Until 1895, at Petersburg, the performance acquired amazing success, and since then has become the world classic ballet.

Its music is like romantic lyric poem; every act of music excellently interprets the scene, prompts drama conflict and portrays figure characters and their inner hearts, featuring profound symphonic characteristics. Because of Tchaikovsky's major reform of ballet music, the music of Swan Lake becomes an epoch-making works in ballet history, many of which are excellent masterpieces.

In 1991, Russian State Ballet was regarded as 'showcase of ballet talents' by German newspapers, and awarded the title 'most outstanding ballet group in Europe' by Western European Association of Brokers. Some cities in Germany, the United States, and Mexico even chose the actors as their own honor citizens.
