BRIEF INTRODUCTION

Four years after their multi-award winning, critically acclaimed debut Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea, 1927 returns with its follow up show The Animals and Children Took to the Streets. It tells the story about Agnes Eaves and her daughter who rent the dimly shabby and uncanny building near the river. When Agnes Eaves and her daughter arrive late one night, does it signal hope in this hopeless place, or has the real horror only just begun? Like a giant graphic novel burst into life, 1927 invites you on a theatrical journey of startling originality. Seamlessly synchronizing live music, performance and storytelling with stunning films and animation, this wickedly twisted show comes to you. The Guardian says 'and you have something of the flavor of this jaw-droppingly clever and gloriously subversive parable of social mobility and revolution.' And The Observer holds 'Anyone interested in the theatre should see this company now.'

1927 Theatre Company
1927 is a London based performance company that specializes in combining performance and live music with animation and film to create magical filmic theatre. Celebrated at home and overseas, the Company was founded in 2005 by Poet, Performer & Director Suzanne Andrade and Animator & Illustrator Paul Barritt.

At the heart of 1927's practice is the desire to explore the relationship between live actor and animation to create dynamic and innovative live theatre. 1927 fuses, merges and mixes creative mediums to create a unique performance style. 1927 has mastered a delicate marriage of live music, animation, film, performance and song, taking disparate elements and making them work in harmony to create unique theatrical experiences.
