BRIEF INTRODUCTION
The story of the Winter's Tale tells how a man loses his family, kingdom, himself, and everything in his life in a fit of unfounded jealousy. Surprisingly, time brings the redemption and gives the play a happy ending.
The play is famous for its two-part structure, which makes The Winter's Tale seem like two entirely different plays that are joined together at the end. The first three acts enact a mini-tragedy and occur in wintery Sicily, while the second half of the play occurs in Bohemia during the summer months and features the kind of restorative ending typical of Shakespeare's comedies.
SYNOPSIS
A tragic fairy story, mysterious and extraordinary. Propeller returns to the story of a man consumed by an inexplicable jealousy that destroys his family, his kingdom and himself. Wracked by guilt, Leontes sets off a chain reaction of events leading to a miraculous ending and the chance for redemption. The greatest playwright writing at the height of his powers. True poetry in motion...
